God wants me to be the best me I can be in Red Class.

A huge welcome to our class page. Please keep looking for regular updates.
Red Class Information
Staff in Red Class
Book bags and reading books.
Please can you ensure your child has a school book bag that is brought to school daily. We don't encourage rucksacks as we don't have the space to store them.
If your child is in Reception, they will receive a reading book to match their reading ability.
They will also be able to bring home a library book that they can change regularly with Mrs Griffis on Tuesdays.
Your child will be listened to read daily in the phonics lesson and pupils will receive 1-1 tuition when needed. Please ensure your child returns their books daily as they may need changing after a particular lesson.
We expect children to have practised their books at home. This will help to build children’s confidence and a love of reading.
Regular newsletters will be sent home and book bags will come in handy to store these in so that you get the latest updates.
P.E days
Red Class P.E days are on Fridays. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their P.E Kits on these days.
See P.E Kit list below:
We ask that no jewellery is worn for school please.
First few weeks in Red Class
During the first few weeks in Red Class, the staff will be getting to know what your child can do and will be getting to know their interests. We have lots of fun things planned this term.
Our topic will be "Helping heroes". In this topic, we will be learning about different types of jobs and vocations. We have an exciting Fire station investigation area in the classroom for the children to explore.
Baseline
If your child is in Reception, they will be taking part in the Department for Educations baseline assessment.
The reception baseline assessment (RBA) is a short, task-based assessment of your child's early literacy, communication, language and mathematics skills when they begin school. The assessment can take place at any point in the first 6 weeks of your child starting reception.
