Belonging
The children have been focusing on belonging. We looked at our school community and how we belong as a family. The children could relate to the uniform and how it brings us together as a school family.
The children created paintings to show how they belong to the school family and discussed how it made them feel.
Our School Family
Baptism
The children have been learning about Baptism. The children understood what happens during a Baptism and what the different symbols represent.
The children carried out role- play to show their understanding of Baptism and what it means.
The children looked at the different symbols to show their understanding of baptism. The children created candles to draw the symbols and discuss their meanings.
The children have been learning about Advent and how it is a time to prepare for the birth of baby Jesus. The children looked at the Advent Wreath and discussed the meaning for each candle and what it means to wait and prepare.
The children had lots of fun creating their own "Advent Wreaths"
The children learnt about the special visit to Mary. The children understood how Angel Gabriel visited Mary to share the good news.
The children acted out the story to show their understanding of what happened.
The children carried out different activities to show their understanding of Judaism.
The children had lots of fun learning about Judaism.
The children have been learning about church. The children acted out what happens in a church to show their understanding.
Neighbours
Flamingoes have been learning about our neighbours and how we are all connected. The children have learnt the importance of showing love and kindness to all neighbours around the world.
The children created posters to show how as neighbours we are all connected by the sun, sky and moon. We looked at scripture which stated how we can all see the same sun and moon and therefore have a connection to love each other.
