Table Tennis

On Monday 8th February, Green Class's Dylan and George represented St Joseph's at Table Tennis. The event was held at All Saints' High School. Both boys were very impressive in the group stages, with both winning all of their games. They met each other in the quarter final, with George edging it after a tight game! George made it all the way to the final but was just edged out. We are very proud of both boys!

On Tuesday 9th February, it was the girl's turn to take the paddle. Ella, Deon, Jess and Ellie represented for St Josephs. The girls fought hard in their group matches but just missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages. We are incredibly proud of the girls who were praised by other schools for their determination and sportsmanship!

Well done to all the pupils involved!

Football

St Joseph's Y5/6 boys football team enjoyed a great run in the Rossendale Schools' Cup. We defeated local rivals Holy Trinity 5-3 in the last 16, with captain Louis awarded the Man Of The Match.

The boys then had a stern test away from home at St Veronica's in the Quarter Final. The boys battled hard from start to finish, even with a man down due to injury. The game finished 2-0 to St Veronica's, who showed class in the final third to score two wonderful goals. Goalkeeper Dylan was praised by most who watched the game, after making a number of world class saves.
