Welcome to Robins Class
Key information
In Robins Class Mrs Sanderson is the class teacher and Miss Alston, Miss Spencer and Miss Prestage are our teaching assistants.
PE Days
PE is on a Tuesday and Wednesday so please ensure that your child has their PE kits in school on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Year 4 children also need their swimming kits on a Tuesday as they go swimming every Tuesday.
Homework
Reading- Children will bring their reading books home each day. Please read with your child at least three times per week and return your child’s book and record to school each day.
Spellings- Children will be set ten new spellings each Monday and they will be stuck in their spelling log book. Please ensure that they do look, cover, write three times then return the record on a Friday ready for the weekly spelling test.
Maths- Children need to login to their Numbots/ Times Tables Rockstars account at least once per week and spend at least 15 minutes practising key number facts. The logins are stuck inside the reading records.
Forest
Every Thursday afternoon Robins Class visits the forest. We develop lots of different skills in the forest such as communication skills, teambuilding skills, confidence and we love to see how the environment changes in the different seasons.
Theme for Autumn Term 1
Our theme for this half term is light. In English we are learning about the narrative story The Rainbow Fish. In Science we will be learning all about light including light sources, how it travels and how shadows are formed. In Maths we will be learning about place value before moving onto addition and subtraction followed by multiplication and division. In geography children will be learning all about sustainability and how to ensure that we have a world for future generations. Our RE theme is Creation and how God created everything that is good. In art we will be developing our collage skills and exploring colours. In PE we will be learning about basketball and dodgeball. Our PSHE theme is keeping ourselves safe online and in computing we are learning about technology around us.
