Headteachers Welcome

God wants me to be the best me I can be.

Welcome from the Headteacher

A very big welcome to St Joseph's Primary School. I hope you find all the information on our website useful, but please don't hesitate to contact us or arrange a visit if you need anything else.

About Our School

St Joseph's is a thriving Catholic primary school set in the village of Stacksteads, close to the town of Bacup in the Rossendale Valley. We are a Voluntary Aided school, welcoming children from 3 to 11 years of age, regardless of their faith or cultural background.

Our school offers an exceptional educational experience, with a team of talented staff dedicated to ensuring your child receives the best possible education. We have a Christ-centred approach that enables our pupils to develop emotionally and spiritually, with Catholic teachings at the heart of everything we do.

Our Curriculum and Learning Environment

Our curriculum is enriched with exciting opportunities that bring learning to life. We have a fantastic learning environment, where teachers and pupils work together to create a nurturing and supportive space that fosters learning and development.

Our mixed-age classes and bespoke curriculum for our Robins class (which caters to pupils with a range of special educational needs) demonstrate our commitment to meeting the individual needs of every child.

Our Ethos and Values

At St Joseph's, we encourage our pupils to be the best they can be, guided by our school motto: "God wants me to be the best me I can be." Our Ofsted inspection in 2022 highlighted the positive and supportive relationships between staff and pupils, as well as the happiness of our children in coming to school.

We value our strong relationships with parents and carers, and we strive to be approachable and responsive to your needs. The happiness and well-being of our pupils is paramount, and we work tirelessly to ensure they thrive in our care.
