Nursery

Reception
If you are applying for a Reception Class place to start in September, please apply online at http://www.lancashire.gov.uk. The Governing Board determines and implements the Admissions Policy; our oversubscription criteria can be found on the policy, a copy of which is below.
In Year Admissions Reception to Year 6
If you are applying for a place in Reception during the year because you are wishing to change schools, or are applying for a place in Years 1-6, please contact school directly on 01706 873177 to find out if places are available. We are happy to admit pupils at any time during the school year providing we have places in that year group. You will need to complete an In Year Admissions Form, which can be found below. You will be notified of the outcome of your application within 10 school days, but this is normally sooner. If we are unable to offer a place we will inform you of the reasons why and let you know how you can appeal.
If the year group is full you can also contact the Pupil Admissions Area East Team on 01254 220747. They can advise on school places in the local area. More information can also be found at http://www.lancashire.gov.uk.

Consultation on Proposed Admissions Policy for 2027-2028
As the admission authority for St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School, the Governing Board wish to consult with you on our admission arrangements for 2027-2028. Consultation must last for a minimum of six weeks and must take place between 1st October and 31st January in the determination year. The consultation period for this policy is from Wednesday 3rd December 2025 to Tuesday 13th January 2026.

Any comments you may have can be sent by email to bursar@st-josephs-bacup.lanc.sch.uk (please put Admissions Policy Consultation as your email title) or by writing to the School Business Manager at the school in an envelope marked Admissions Policy Consultation. All responses must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 13th January 2026.
