Our Prayer Leaders lead prayer and worship across the school. They attend training in the diocese and lead prayer in assembly. Prayer leaders also visit each class to encourage the children to develop their faith. They are identified through their Prayer Leader Sweaters.
At St Joseph's our Prayer Leaders choose which charities we support each year. Parents and children have supported Macmillan Coffee Mornings as well as collections for foodbanks and the NSPCC.
On Friday 24th September we held a Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was a huge success and we raised over £145. Thank you to everyone who donated and made cakes. Also thank you to everyone who attended. It was a lovely morning.
Children collected money in boxes at home and returned them to school. Thank you to everyone who helped raise this money.
On March 25th the children took part in a bunny hop to raise money for Rossendale Hospice. the children raised money through entering competitions and sponsorship. It was a beautiful sunny day and the children loved hopping around the school grounds.
Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue
Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue visited school. We met some of the animals they had rescued and we also learnt about how they rescue the animals and how they look after them. We are going to hold a 'wear your own clothes day' and donate animals items such as food, bedding, treats and toys.
Foodbank Drop Off Point
St Joseph's is a drop off point for any food you would like to donate to the Raft Foundation. The Raft Foundation was formed in Rossendale, Lancashire by local people to assist communities, families and individuals who are in need within the Rossendale Valley.
If you would like to drop any food items off (not fresh items please) there is a green bucket near the entrance to KS2 (near the hall.) School will ensure that all donations are given to the foodbank for those families in need. If you would like more information please visit www.raftfoundation.org

Today we came dressed in our own clothes to raise money for Greggs who support school with the free breakfast club, food parcels, beds, uniform, white goods and supermarket vouchers. Greggs provided us with some lovely resources so that we could hold our big picnic.
