Mylo - our school dog

Mylo is a new member of St Joseph’s however there is something a little bit different about him…… he is a DOG!

Mylo is a white, fluffy dog who shows lots of love and affection towards other members of staff and his family. In the future when he is older and less lively, he will listen to children read and always be there for a hug when the children are upset or stressed. He gives good cuddles and is always wanting to meet new people.

When the children read to a dog it can boost their confidence and will make them want to read more. We know that dogs can’t speak but just being there can really help. This won’t be happening any time soon as he is still new to the world and doesn’t understand most things yet. We can already see that the children of St Joseph’s love him and can’t wait to spend time with him in the future.

Mylo’s journey at St Joseph’s will be posted on this page and updated regularly so you can see his accomplishments and all the help he gives the children. Any questions or worries you have regarding Mylo please contact Mrs Elder. Mylo can’t wait to meet you all!
